Ingredients
1poundsuper-firm tofu
2tablespoonstamari sauce
1tablespoonmaple syrup
1teaspoonroasted sesame oil
1teaspoononion powder
1teaspoongarlic powder
1teaspoonnutritional yeast flakes
1/2teaspooncumin powder
1cupcilantro leaves
1/2cupfresh parsley
2tablespoonsonion, (chopped)
3clovesgarlic, (minced)
1/4cupextra virgin olive oil
2tablespoonslemon juice
1medium avocado, (pitted)
Salt, (to taste)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly brush with oil. Set aside.
Drain and press tofu, then cut into 2-inch cubes.
In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, maple syrup, sesame oil, onion powder, garlic powder, nutritional yeast flakes, and cumin, mixing well.
Brush marinade on tofu slices and allow to marinate for 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the avocado sauce by adding cilantro, parsley, onion, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, avocado, and salt to a high-speed blender or food processor and process until smooth.
Place baked tofu slices onto a baking sheet and brush with oil.
Bake for 30 minutes, turning over halfway through.
