Whether you spell it hummus or houmous, this classic recipe is simply delicious and super-easy to make. You will always find some in my refrigerator along with some cut-up carrots and cucumbers.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cut each pita into 8 wedges.
Pour olive oil into a bowl and add zatar seasoning.
Brush both sides of each pita slice with olive oil mixture and arrange on a baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
While the pita is baking, in a food processor, add all ingredients and process until smooth. Add more ice cubes if needed.
Spoon into a bowl and top with 2 tablespoons olive oil, then garnish with more zatar seasoning and coriander, cilantro, or parsley leaves.
Remove the pita from the oven and serve with hummus.
