Baked Okra Fries

5 from 1 vote
My kids have always shied away from okra, until I started making this baked okra recipe. These are just like French fries -- nice and crispy, and you can never have just one!
Servings: 4
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds fresh okra
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chat masala
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Wash okra and either air dry or dry it with a kitchen towel. Okra must be dry, otherwise it will be slimy when you cut it.
  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  • Place okra in the center of a large rimmed sheet pan and drizzle oil over top.
  • Add all seasonings and toss well to coat.
  • Spread okra out in a single layer.
  • Roast in the oven for 18-20 minutes, shaking pan once after 10 minutes to turn okra.

BON APPÉTIT!

Note: Here is a link to the chat masala I like to use.
