Apple Cinnamon Chips
Apple Cinnamon Chips
These sweet baked apple cinnamon chips are so delicious that everyone I serve them to always wants more. Luckily for me -- and for them -- these yummy snacks are super easy to make (only 2 ingredients!) and healthy.
Ingredients
- 3 apples, (large Honeycrisp or Pink Lady)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Place the racks in the upper and lower thirds of the oven and preheat to 200 degrees F.
- Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Wash the apples then core them with an apple corer.
- Using a mandolin, slice the apples horizontally into ⅛-inch-thick rounds.
- Arrange apple rounds in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets, then sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Bake the apples on the lower rack for 1 hour.
- Switch the apple slices to the upper rack and continue baking until the chips are crisp (about 1-1.5 additional hours).
- Turn off the oven and let the chips sit for an additional hour to cool down and crisp further.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week until ready to serve.

We were looking for a simple snack to share with friends. And with only two ingredients, this recipe worked perfectly. We ended up slicing the apples by hand because we didn’t have a mandolin. This resulted in slight variations of crispness post-baking. But, I think they all came out great. The wonderful smells of baked cinnamon that permeated our flat were an added bonus!!
