Apple Cinnamon Chips

Apple Cinnamon Chips

These sweet baked apple cinnamon chips are so delicious that everyone I serve them to always wants more. Luckily for me -- and for them -- these yummy snacks are super easy to make (only 2 ingredients!) and healthy.

  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Cook Time: 3 hours
  • Total Time: 3 hours 15 minutes
  • Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 3 apples (large Honeycrisp or Pink Lady)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Place the racks in the upper and lower thirds of the oven and preheat to 200 degrees F.

  2. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

  3. Wash the apples then core them with an apple corer.

  4. Using a mandolin, slice the apples horizontally into ⅛-inch-thick rounds.

  5. Arrange apple rounds in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets, then sprinkle with cinnamon.

  6. Bake the apples on the lower rack for 1 hour.

  7. Switch the apple slices to the upper rack and continue baking until the chips are crisp (about 1-1.5 additional hours).

  8. Turn off the oven and let the chips sit for an additional hour to cool down and crisp further.

  9. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week until ready to serve.

Bon appétit!

We were looking for a simple snack to share with friends. And with only two ingredients, this recipe worked perfectly. We ended up slicing the apples by hand because we didn’t have a mandolin. This resulted in slight variations of crispness post-baking. But, I think they all came out great. The wonderful smells of baked cinnamon that permeated our flat were an added bonus!!
